Colony (군체) is a 2026 South Korean zombie thriller directed by Yeon Sang-ho. The film centres on Se-jeong, a biotechnology professor played by Jun Ji-hyun, who attends a biotech conference that descends into chaos when a rapidly mutating virus is unleashed. As the infection spreads and those affected begin to transform, authorities seal off the entire facility, trapping survivors inside with an escalating and unpredictable threat.
Blending intense horror with science-fiction elements, Colony explores a confined, high-rise setting where the danger continually evolves rather than simply spreads. The screenplay is written by Yeon Sang-ho alongside Choi Gyu-seok, with production by Yoomin Hailey Yang.
The film is set to premiere in the Midnight section at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival in May 2026, followed by a theatrical release in select countries in June 2026. Colony is expected to be a standout entry in contemporary Korean horror, offering a darker, more unpredictable take on the zombie genre.
