Late on the evening of 11 August, idol-turned-actor Song Won Geun personally announced in a handwritten letter that he was planning to get married.
After beginning his career as a model, Song Won Geun debuted as a member of the idol group OPPA in 2000. He later turned to acting while continuing a solo music career, appearing in dramas such as “Princess Aurora” and “Apgujeong Midnight Sun.”

I’m writing today because there is something I wish to tell you with care, and I wanted to share it with you first, before anyone else.
Because you have been with me through every precious moment of my journey as an actor, I wanted to be the first to convey this news to you personally.
Although I feel nervous and a little cautious about sharing this kind of news, I have met someone with whom I want to spend the rest of my life, and I plan to start a new life with that person.
To be honest, I’d reached an age where the phrase “old bachelor” might have fitted me, but I’ve now shed that label (thankfully).
I’m rather surprised myself, and above all, very happy.
Looking back, I have only been able to come this far as an actor because you have always been there, supporting me with unfaltering hearts.
