Ms. A, who raised allegations about actor Hwang Jungmin’s private life, acknowledged that she had previously been active as a fansite manager (“homma,” short for homepage master) for idol groups, but argued that “this has nothing to do with the substance of the allegations.” She also denied accusations that she demanded money under the guise of a settlement.

In a phone interview with Star News on the 6th, A disputed a report published that day by Dispatch, saying, “I never demanded money from Hwang Jungmin’s side in exchange for a settlement.”

Earlier, Dispatch, citing Hwang Jungmin’s representatives, reported the following position: “Pay money on the condition that false allegations stop? If Hwang Jungmin deserves criticism, he should be criticized, and if A deserves punishment, she should be punished. There will be no settlement.”

A explained, “I exchanged KakaoTalk messages with a manager from Hwang Jungmin’s agency and, since 2025, requested a private, non-monetary, face-to-face meeting. I simply used the word ‘discussion’ for convenience. The purpose was to verify the facts and discuss measures to prevent a recurrence.”

She continued, “I believed that if various issues were not fully resolved, there could be continued contact in the future. To prevent that and bring the matter to a close, I requested an in-person meeting through attorneys. This has been my consistent position from the beginning and has never changed.”

She added, “Throughout the dispute, I have always been open to reaching a settlement, and through my attorney I even asked whether the other side was willing to settle. However, they avoided answering that question.”

“It was never my intention to ‘bring down Hwang Jungmin.’ From beginning to end, I wanted to resolve this privately and amicably,” she emphasized.

She went on to claim that Hwang Jungmin’s side approached her about a year later, in July of this year, with a settlement proposal.

“They didn’t just call me, they suddenly came to see me in person. Before proposing a settlement, they asked me to provide a list of the reporters I had contacted. After I handed over the information, there was no meaningful response.”

She further claimed, “When I wanted to resolve things quietly, I was ignored. Then, five days before the release of the film Hope, they suddenly came in a hurry. The claim that I timed my allegations to coincide with the film’s release is false. If that had been my intention, there would have been better opportunities.”

Star News said it contacted Hwang Jungmin’s attorney to verify the facts, but the lawyer responded, “Because the matter is currently in litigation, it is difficult to comment.”

A also acknowledged Dispatch’s report that she had previously been a “homma” for SHINee and NCT.

“I have no intention of denying it. It seems they’re trying to argue that I used to follow idols around and then simply switched my target to Hwang Jungmin, but that was 16 years ago,” she said.

A argued, “I don’t understand what that has to do with the current relationship or circumstances. The fact that I used to be a homma doesn’t make my claims false, nor does it meaningfully refute the allegations. I think it’s simply an attempt to embarrass me.”

Regarding her recent posts on social media, she said, “I’m fully aware that posting them could put me at a disadvantage in legal proceedings. Even so, given the current situation, I felt I had no choice.”
