[pann] THE REASON WHY I DON’T WATCH ROMANCE DRAMAS ANYMORE…
Dramas back in the days
How did things end up like this?
The reason I don’t watch romance dramas is that I can’t even get immersed in the story, starting with the male lead’s looks.
These days, action series like ‘Manager Kim’, ‘Weak Hero’, ‘Moving’, ‘Bloodhounds’, ‘Teach You a Lesson’, and ‘A Shop for Killers’ are way better in terms of looks

It’s not just the male leads, the female leads have issues too… I find the visual chemistry between Seo Kangjoon and Ahn Eunjin, who are starring in an upcoming project, a bit disappointing. Personally, I didn’t like the pairing of Kim Hyeyoon and Lomon either. When put together, Kim Hyeyoon looked old enough to be his aunt

Seriously, look at dramas these days, it’s always one of two scenarios: the male lead is super hot while the female lead is plain, or the female lead is stunning while the male lead is ugly. Even setting that aside, I just wish they’d stop writing characters as “unparalleled beauties” or “heartthrobs” when it’s obvious to everyone watching that they aren’t actually that good-looking

Agree. Previous actors were better at acting too..

The pool of actresses isn’t great either, but just look at the talent pool for male actors, guys like Ryu Junyeol, Koo Kyohwan, and Byeon Wooseok are the leads in rom-coms. It’s bleak, it’s just a freaking disasterㅋㅋ

I totally agree with the post. I really wish they’d stop squeezing idols who lack acting skills or the bad looking ones into lead roles in romance dramas… It ruins immersion in the story, and there are too many cases where the co-stars end up suffering for it

I have a lot to say but will keep quiet..
