Ha Young’s old post from 2021 has been dug up again and is now becoming a new point of reference 😌
In that photo, Ha Young is filming the drama Secret Royal Inspector and wrote the caption, “My first hanbok in my life, such a fun shoot ☺️”
The public is reminded of the statement from her great-grandfather (Ahn Sangho) that was published in a pro-colonial newspaper back in 1918.
“I don’t own a single piece of Joseon (Korean) clothing and I’m exactly like a Japanese person.”
Knetz immediately got emotional and thought, “How is it possible that a native Korean citizen, at 29 years old, has never once worn hanbok?”
In Korea, a one-year-old baby is definitely dressed in hanbok for the Doljanchi celebration, not to mention during holiday breaks like Chuseok or Seollal.
How could it be that Ms. Ha Young only wore her hanbok for the first time while filming a K-drama? 🤔”
“My first hanbok in my life, such a fun shoot ☺️”
1. We’re the same age, but back then, wasn’t wearing hanbok just part of the culture, not a matter of personal preference? Everyone wore hanbok at my grandpa’s 60th birthday party, and just look at how many hanbok shops there were back then. It’s just a characteristic of Japanese families ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
2. Aside from the holidays, she must’ve had to wear a hanbok at least once for etiquette class at school, so..
3. It’s not that she couldn’t wear Hanboks because she had no money. Is this even possible as a Korean person?
4. She probably only wore Kimonos growing up
5. Is it even possible to have never worn a Hanbok
6. When the controversy broke out, she immediately admitted that her great-grandmother was Japanese, didn’t sge? I don’t think she’s ever worn a hanbok in her personal life
7. Huh? She’s never worn a Hanbok to school either???
8. As expected from the traitor
9. I used to wear Hanbok even when I lived in a one-room basement rental…
10. I was too young at the time, so I don’t remember wearing a Hanbok, but when I look at my childhood photos, I see I was wearing one…
