[theqoo] “BTS BOULEVARD” PROPOSED FOR TORONTO, CANADA… HONORARY STREET NAME TO BE DESIGNATED FOR ONE MONTH

BTS is set to hold concerts at the Rogers Centre in Toronto on the 22nd and 23rd. The Toronto City Council has decided to request that the mayor designate this period as “BTS Weekend.” Additionally, the council passed a resolution to illuminate the public art installation in front of Toronto City Hall in purple, the group’s signature color, on the days of the concerts.

In response, the group’s agency, Big Hit Music, stated that the City of Toronto had inquired about obtaining approval to use their intellectual property (IP) for the honorary street naming and the “BTS Weekend” declaration, adding that they are currently in discussions regarding the matter.

Earlier, in Mexico City, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum presented a commemorative plaque to the members of BTS.

During their concert in Paris, France, President Emmanuel Macron and the First Lady watched the performance from the audience. Meanwhile, El Paso County in Texas, USA, presented BTS with the “Estimado Amigo” (Dear Friend) award and proclaimed the period of their performance as “El Paso BTS Weekend.”
