Jin, a member of the group BTS, has realized a capital gain of over 8 billion won by selling a luxury home.

According to a report by Herald Business on the 31st, Jin sold a unit in an ultra-luxury residential complex in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, for 12.7 billion won last April.

He had originally purchased the property for 4.49 billion won in 2019. Through this sale, Jin secured a massive capital gain of approximately 8.21 billion won (5M USD).

As no mortgage lien was registered against the property, the transaction is presumed to have been settled entirely in cash without a loan. The deal was finalized in early April, just one month before the government reimplemented heavy capital gains taxes on multi-home owners in designated adjustment areas.

With this sale, Jin has disposed of one of the three units he owned in the complex, leaving him with two remaining properties.

Built on the former site of Dankook University, the complex consists of 600 low-rise, large-sized units and is considered one of Korea’s premier affluent neighborhoods, home to numerous business leaders and famous celebrities.
