The group ChenBaeXi (Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin) has suffered a major blow to its image following yet another conflict with its agency.

On the 10th, The Fact reported that Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin had sent a certified letter at the end of last month to One Hundred Label, led by CEO Cha Ga-won, notifying the agency of their intention to terminate their exclusive contracts.

They reportedly raised concerns that contractual obligations, including settlement issues, were not being properly fulfilled, and after failing to receive a clear explanation, they ultimately decided to terminate the contract.

In response, CEO Cha Ga-won’s side cautiously told Xports News, “We are working to normalize the company. We will strive to resolve the situation, even if it means securing additional investment or using our own funds.”

This is not the first time ChenBaeXi has been in conflict with their agency. In 2023, they clashed with SM Entertainment, alleging failure to provide settlement documents and unfair contract terms.

At the time, both sides appeared to have resolved the conflict by reaching a mutual agreement. However, a new conflict arose in 2024 after Chen and Xiumin joined INB100, an independent label founded by Baekhyun, and were subsequently absorbed into a subsidiary of One Hundred, a company founded by CEO Cha Ga-won and MC Mong.

Furthermore, One Hundred has recently been in a precarious situation due to management instability and the successive departures of its artists. With controversies over unpaid settlement funds and various allegations surrounding the management surfacing, trust in the company has plummeted, and even ChenBaeXi has joined the “departure rush” by notifying the company of their contract termination.

Furthermore, EXO, ChenBaeXi’s original group, has been promoting as a six-member group without them, making it effectively impossible to resume activities as a nine-member group.

Although ChenBaeXi expressed a desire to rejoin EXO’s activities last October after losing most of their legal battles, SM drew a clear line, stating, “Settling the dispute and team activities are separate issues.” ChenBaeXi’s actions not only shattered trust within EXO but also caused fans to turn their backs on them.

While seeking better conditions is a natural choice, ChenBaeXi’s actions ultimately resulted in financial losses. Furthermore, their image, something money cannot buy, has suffered a massive blow, and this is expected to significantly impact their future activities.

1. So, what do you think of getting a taste of what it’s really like to be with an agency that hasn’t settled its accounts?

2. What a ridiculous state this has come to, is this the end of being money-crazy?

3. What a funny ending for them

4. They are leaving again because of money

5. Isn’t this the end of the all-time biggest money-crazies? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a case where someone went so far and ended up looking this ridiculous

6. They became jokes

7. I really hope they don’t ask EXO about them again… I’m not an EXO fan, but seeing the five of them lately, they seem to be doing well

8. EXO looks better now too. Even as a non-fan, they look way more stable

9. They seem to have become a prime example of “They did this to themselves.”

10. SM gave them a great solo album, helped them stand out as an individual, and supported their group activities, and didn’t they even brand those three members together? I just don’t get why they left, causing all this conflict, when they had everything they needed
