According to a 2019 report by a local media outlet, Seungri was the corepresentative of JM Town, alongside Kim Jung-woong, the CEO of JM Solution. The report said the former BigBang member had close ties with Kim and later handed his position to his friend Yoo In-suk, following the Burning Sun scandal.
JM Town reportedly had prepared to expand its business through a franchise model and applied for trademarks for names including “Seungtsby,” a combination of “Seungri” and “Gatsby,” from The Great Gatsby.

First and foremost, we would like to sincerely thank all of our customers who have always trusted and supported JM Solution products.
We sincerely apologize for causing concern and confusion among our customers as inaccurate information has recently been circulating on some social media platforms and online communities linking JM Solution to Lee Seung-hyun (Seungri) and the Burning Sun case.
Accordingly, we have prepared the following statement to clarify the relevant facts and provide accurate information.
In the past, we received a business proposal from Lee Seung-hyun (Seungri)’s side and established JM Town Co., Ltd. However, as the Burning Sun case came to light, the proposed business was withdrawn before it began. The company was subsequently dissolved and liquidated in 2019 without engaging in any actual business operations or generating any revenue.
Lee Seung-hyun (Seungri) has never invested in JM Solution or held any ownership stake in the company, either in the past or at present. He also has no business or financial relationship with JM Solution involving the planning, manufacturing, distribution, or sales of JM Solution products.
Therefore, claims such as “JM Solution is Lee Seung-hyun (Seungri)’s company,” “Lee Seung-hyun (Seungri) is the owner of JM Solution,” or “these cosmetics were made with funds from Burning Sun” are clearly contrary to the facts.
We take seriously any repeated dissemination of false information, as well as any attempts to distort the limited facts concerning the past by linking them to the current JM Solution.
Regarding the posts currently circulating, we are securing evidence through our legal team and external law firms. We intend to take all necessary legal action against the creation and distribution of malicious false information.
Although the proposed business never actually materialized, we nevertheless feel a deep sense of responsibility that the decisions made at the time have caused concern among our current business partners and consumers.
We will continue to respond responsibly in order to protect the trust placed in our brand and products.
