To the Citizens (of the Nation)….

Hello, I am Park Bom… The weather has gotten much better now, but there is something I absolutely must tell you. I am writing this thinking it might be the last time… I came to Korea to become a singer after studying abroad in the U.S. It’s a bit of a sudden story, but please listen.

I am Park Bom, in charge of Vocals. I’m a prodigy at singing… Even as a student, I was very popular for my singing. After coming back to Korea and passing auditions against many people-disappointing my parents’ expectations for me as an international student-l stubbornly stayed for 3 years, facing endless auditions with YG. With the right judgment and tenacity to be the best at singing, I came to take charge of Vocals in “Captain Planet”…

Next is our leader CL, Lee Chae-rin. She is the God of Performance. To that extent! Her improvisational composition, expressions, and everything else just “works”! She is a rapper. Since I am not her, I can’t write in great detail, but she is a friend who has been to France, Tokyo, and Korea. We all gathered from far away, right??

Chae-rin is a very cool person. Someone who does everything wonderfully… Even when she just moves her hands, she’s cool… You can say she oversees making everything look cool. In “Captain Planet,” she takes charge of Performance.

This is our youngest, Gong Minzy.

Minzy is well known as the granddaughter of Gong Ok-jin, who was designated as a National Treasure. Seeing her from the side, I am so proud of her perhaps because she inherited that blood. I think she’s “crazy” (talented). This kid is a Dance God! It was quite amazing… even to me, it’s fascinating. She is a refreshingly hot, impulsive, and strange kid… she’s gratifying… So, even when I’m on stage, I smile because I’m proud of her. It’s also because everything she does is spontaneous… People don’t know, so they react that way, but if you show her to people abroad, they’ll know she’s the best… Hahaha… Their attitudes change instantly… This is Gong Minzy from Korea. In “Captain Planet,” she takes charge of Dance.

Lastly, my Sandara…

Sandara is the Princess of the Philippines… I have been her fan since the beginning. To the point where I’d watch Human Theater at the scheduled time… I thought she looked like the actress Kang Soo-yeon when she debuted… She’s so pretty, right?? Within the team, she is in charge of Harmony and Fresh Vocals. She always greets people with a smiling face. When she sings with me (the main vocal), her voice is so beautiful and creates a synergy effect. Everyone works hard, but even though she’s an “unnie” (older sister), she endures embarrassment and works hard without being bothered by what the younger ones say. I know everything. In “Captain Planet,” she takes charge of the Brain. She is brilliant. She plays a role like a manager. She watches over and manages every single member.

To put it simply…

Everyone, first of all, I love you so much…

You don’t know how hard it was and how much l didn’t want to live while writing this. I wrote this on another piece of paper while screaming because it was so “cringy”… The reason is that this style isn’t really my style. T.T… However, this story is the story within us that I have wanted to tell for 20 years. It is a 100% true story.

First, thank you for raising us, who gathered with such difficulty. Thank you so much for raising us in Korea…

Since you raised us all, I hope my heart regarding the group 2NE1 is conveyed. I am leaving this letter because I desperately wanted to tell you my heart.

Actually, I am writing this because I wish that “drug talk” story would just be treated as something that never happened…

Because it’s such a waste-the fact that the four of us met is a miracle, and because of the age gap and other impossible circumstances… that’s why I’m writing this letter. I was so grateful that you all raised us so dearly. And I love you.
