The script reportedly did not aim to faithfully recreate the actual incident but was a work of fiction positing that “the true culprit was someone else,” with the actual assassin depicted as a Korean hitman. On September 15, the Japanese outlet Gendai Business reported the film’s plot, citing an anonymous entertainment industry insider who had reviewed the script. According to the report, the story centers on a religious group that views an incumbent prime minister, who enjoys unprecedented public support, as a thorn in its side and systematically dispatches an assassin to eliminate him.

In this narrative, the character corresponding to the actual defendant, Tetsuya Yamagami, served merely as a decoy intended to divert attention from the true culprit’s identity, while the actual assassin was portrayed as a highly skilled Korean hitman.
