The drama generated anticipation even before its premiere due to the pairing of Seo Kangjoon and Ahn Eun-jin. It drew particular attention as Seo Kangjoon’s follow-up project after winning the Daesang at the ‘2025 MBC Drama Awards.’ Following his military discharge, he previously achieved both commercial success and the Grand Prize with ‘Undercover High School’ (released last February), which marked his return to television and recorded a peak viewership rating of 8.3%.
However, the first two episodes fell short of expectations. ‘A Love Other Than You’ premiered with a viewership rating of 2.6% (based on nationwide data from Nielsen Korea) and rose by just 0.2 percentage points to 2.8% for the second episode. But this latest project doesn’t seem to have the elements needed to spark that heart-fluttering feeling. Ultimately, no matter how handsome an actor is, the script and direction have to be good. I really wish he’d do a classic, straightforward romance for once; honestly, this one was a bit too low-key ㅠ
