[theqoo] SUPERGIRL IS FAILING MORE THAN I THOUGHT
SUPERGIRL bombed harder than Warner Bros. estimated yesterday — only $7.9M on Sunday.
One of the weakest domestic openings this decade from the Big 3 CBM studios:
The Marvels— $46.1M (Disney)
Morbius— $39M (Sony)
Joker 2— $37.7M (WB)
Supergirl— $37.1M (WB) pic.twitter.com/twYGlqqzUQ— Global Box Office (@GlobalBoxOffice) June 29, 2026
Supergirl Budget: $260 million to $290 million
A B- rating on CinemaScore, a metric that measures audience reactions to movies
(This is the lowest CinemaScore ever for a DC movie (DCEU, DCU))

1. It’s just average, but if the main character were a woman, I probably wouldn’t watch it at allㅋ If it were a man, I bet people would be leaving comments like, “The action was pretty good,” or “They should focus more on the story in the next series.”
2. I found it fun though
3. It’s even lower than ‘Mobius’… I didn’t really feel like watching it, so I skipped it, but even with James Gunn joining DC, the box office results aren’t that different
4. This girl’s image just doesn’t fit Supergirl’s
5. They deserved it. It was so badly made
6. I enjoyed it so I’m shocked that the reviews as so bad. Even my mom who watched it with me was satisfied with it
7. I just feel like hero movies’ heydays are far gone
8. The “Superman” topic is just getting so old now
9. I’m not really into superhero movies in general, so I haven’t seen it and I’m not going to comment on it, but… It seems like a lot of people in the comments haven’t seen it either, and it’s really not right to just go around saying things like “it’s a total flop” without even watching it… I feel like people are being even more careless with their comments just because it’s a movie about a female superhero, so…
10. Supergirl’s character is so charming and likable but the movie just didn’t portray her wellㅠㅠ
