[theqoo] THAI CITIZENS, TROUBLED BY TOURISTS’ UNDERWATER S**… “PLEASE STOP”

Recently, local media outlets, including the Bangkok Post, reported that on the 4th (local time), between 3 and 4 a.m., residents caught four pairs of foreign men and women engaging in s** underwater near Pattaya Beach.

Mr. Mon (44), a local resident who witnessed the scene firsthand, said, “The foreign tourists were hugging and kissing each other, moving as if they were having s** underwater.” He added, “Residents asked them to stop, but they paid no heed.”

Eventually, Mr. Mon and the residents took photos and videos of the foreign tourists. Mr. Mon stated, “They have severely damaged Pattaya’s image through their repeated obscene acts in public places,” and explained that he filmed them to use as evidence to submit to authorities when they take legal action against them in the future.

Thailand strictly prohibits inter***** in public places. However, numerous foreign tourists visiting Thailand are repeatedly being caught engaging in obscene acts in public places such as streets and beaches.

In fact, last April, a Chinese man and woman were caught by passersby engaging in inter***** in the middle of a street in Pattaya and subsequently arrested by the police. At the time, they had even installed a camera on the road to film themselves.

Local police fined them 5,000 baht (approximately 230,000 KRW) each. They also warned that posting the filmed material online could result in a prison sentence of up to 10 years.

Last December, authorities launched arrests after videos of Russian tourists engaging in s****l activity in Pattaya and this April, a French tourist couple, on a beach in Phuket, went viral. The individuals stated that they “did not know (inter**** in a public place) was illegal because they were caught up in the vacation atmosphere.” They, too, received fines.
