If a five-member group spends at least seven years as trainees, they start their idol career burdened with a debt of at least 3.5 billion won (2.5M USD). It must be assumed that they are working without pay until they receive their settlement.

1. If you think about it this way, these idols might flop, but they haven’t spent a single penny themselves

2. Can we stop making idols already… We have way too many of them 

3. There are honestly too many of them. Setting aside how successful they are, the ones whose names we even recognize represent just a small fraction

4. This isn’t the reason why idols flop, but the reason why companies flop 

5. They should focus on teaching them how to speak Korean in the first place. They invest so much in learning foreign languages and for them go to to the gym, but this is all bullsh*t. This is why they all flop 

6. So are they able to get paid right away if they don’t train for long and hit big the moment they debut? ㄷㄷ

7. I can’t even imagine the hardships the groups that started small and made it big must have gone through

8. But when I look at idols, not all of them are incredibly good at English, Japanese, dancing, singing, and facial expressions. Does it cost a fortune to even reach that level of proficiency?

9. It’s starting to make sense why there are so many idols with wealthy backgrounds

10. Honestly, it’s not even high-risk. What do idols actually lose if things don’t work out? Time? Since they’re young, they can easily go on to live a different life. It’s a shame if they don’t achieve their dream, but that’s just life, you can’t achieve everything, after all
