[theqoo][OFFICIAL] 20 JYP AFFILIATED INDIVIDUALS BECOME MEMBERS OF THE US RECORDING ACADEMY… “TO PARTICIPATE IN GRAMMY VOTING”

According to JYP on the 14th, a total of 18 artists, including J.Y. Park, TWICE (Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, Tzuyu), and Stray Kids (Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, I.N), have been selected as voting members of the Recording Academy.

Voting membership is designated for music creators active in the recording industry, such as artists, songwriters, producers, and engineers, and grants the right to participate in the voting process to select nominees and winners for the Grammy Awards.

JYP CEO Jung Wook and Shin Hyun-kook (CSO of JYP and CEO of JYP America) have been selected as Professional Members of the Recording Academy. Professional membership is intended for music business professionals who directly support music creators; it allows them to engage with the Recording Academy’s music industry community, participate in various programs and networking opportunities, and take part in processes such as Grammy Awards submissions.

Established in 1957, the Recording Academy is a premier U.S. music organization that represents the voices of music professionals, including artists, songwriters, producers, and engineers. It has organized the Grammy Awards, the world’s most prestigious music honors, since 1959 and continually strengthens the diversity and expertise of the music community by inviting music professionals from around the globe to become members each year.

In January of this year, J.Y. Park (an active artist and JYP’s Chief Creative Officer), Jung Wook, and Shin Hyun-kook were named in the “Multi-Sector” category of the “Billboard Power 100,” a list curated by Billboard to recognize influential figures across various sectors of the global music industry. Subsequently, in March, they were selected for the “Billboard Global Power Players” list, which honors leaders driving the music market in regions outside the United States.
