It’s true that, being Asian, Koreans tend to have features like prominent cheekbones, smaller eyes, and a stockier build, so I don’t get why some people feel offended or think it’s an insult to Koreans.
Just look at street interviews with ordinary people from the early 2000s, before plastic surgery became commonplace. With very few exceptions, everyone looked pretty much the same. It’s just that, thanks to the massive advancements in cosmetic procedures, people have started to mistakenly believe that Koreans are naturally blessed with great looks.
It was the same story in China and Japan back then, too. I’m neither a Korea-basher nor a blind nationalist, but I think it’s important to stick to the facts.
1. Well, the average would certainly drop quite a bit without makeup and plastic surgery…
2. For men, Korea is better, because of height and physique.
