Parc Jae Jung To Change Fan Club Name Due To Overlap With Different Artist
Parc Jae Jung will be changing the fan club name he recently announced.
Earlier this week, Parc Jae Jung’s agency, Romantic Factory, announced that the singer’s official fan club name would be “Namu” (the Korean word for “tree”). However, some fans of veteran singer Park Hyo Shin objected to the name, noting that “Namu” is a nickname already used by Park Hyo Shin’s official fan club, “Soul Tree.”
On 20 June, Romantic Factory responded by apologising for the overlap and announcing that they would change the name of Parc Jae Jung’s fan club, which had originally been chosen for its connection to his nickname “Namu Prince” (“Tree Prince”).

We ask for your understanding that we have had to make this announcement via the artist’s account in order to convey the information as quickly as possible.
Previously, we announced that the name of the first-generation of Parc Jae Jung’s official fan club, which will begin recruitment on 22 June, would be “Namu,” chosen because of its connection to the artist’s nickname.
However, following our announcement, we learned that fans of Park Hyo Shin’s official fan club, “Soul Tree,” have long used the nickname “Namu.”
Although the official fan club names themselves are different, we felt that using the same form of address could cause confusion. We also believed that, as this is the launch of Parc Jae Jung’s official fan club, we should be especially careful in handling the situation.
Therefore, we decided to reconsider the originally announced fan club name and will announce a new name at a later date. However, recruitment for the first-generation fan club will proceed from 22 June as scheduled.
We sincerely apologise for disappointing fans who were pleased by and supported the original fan club name, as it was meaningful and connected to the artist’s nickname,
We would also like to apologise to Park Hyo Shin and his fans, who may have experienced confusion as a result of this matter.
We will be more meticulous and careful in future.
