[theqoo] CONTROVERSY OVER SOCCER GOLD MEDALIST’S INSTAGRAM

“Park Seung-soo, currently playing for Newcastle, has been confirmed for military exemption at the age of 19.”

– South Korea is a seriously shitty country… If you do well, they let you get out of the military as a reward ㅋㅋㅋ That’s basically the government admitting that military service is a punishment ㅋㅋㅋ

– You shouldn’t be boasting about it officially like that..

– Ah seriously I can’t see any other goals playing the Asian Games than getting exempted

“The photo feels like he’s mocking soldiers who have completed their service and been discharged… It seems like people aren’t proud of winning a gold medal as a member of the South Korean national team, but rather, at some point, they started thinking only about military exemption. Regarding the gold medal, military exemption is literally just a secondary benefit. Gold medal = military exemption(?) It’s not something to be taken for granted.”

He’s getting sworn at for flaunting his military exemption after winning the gold medal

8. Go immigrate then

9. The inferiority complex is so severe, maybe you try to achieve something in soports then?
