“Judging by the photos her parents posted on Instagram, her religion is Hinduism. Since Indonesia requires religion to be listed on ID cards and being non-religious is effectively illegal there, it is impossible for him to be non-religious. 6. I think I heard that if an Indonesia person says they have no religion, it’s seen as if they have no thoughts, as if they lack a fundamental foundation. So, if you’re not religious, you might as well just say you’re Confucian

It’s ridiculous that she was criticized just for the possibility that she might be Muslim in the first place… There are many countries and regions overseas where religion is simply taken for granted. Let’s at least develop enough social awareness to realize that it’s rude to dismiss other cultures as “strange” or “backward”…
